Nick All Star Brawl Reddit came out a week ago, and I’m interested what everyone here thinks of it now that it’s out and passed all of the hype. Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl is a platform fighter inspired by Super Smash Bros. Melee that uses Nickelodeon characters rather than Nintendo characters. It retains the rapid and fluid combat of Melee, but adds a few modifications to the mechanics that distinguish it as a separate game.

If you can look past the lackluster graphics, I believe this game is easily the best platform fighter I’ve played. The action is extremely rapid, yet the characters are so responsive that I never lose track of what’s going on and it’s quite easy for me to go into my zone while playing this game. Because most moves may be followed up with another attack almost immediately, combinations feel less rigid and more improvised.

The movement is really precise, and the developers took difficult to learn features like wavedashing and made them very simple and accessible. Each character in Nick All Star Brawl Reddit is distinct from the others, and the ensemble as a whole appears to be well-balanced so far. There are some difficulties with infinites, and characters like Aang may feel like they can just spam the same attack again and over, but the devs have already stated that these concerns will be addressed.

Many people were comparing this game to Smash Bros., which is understandable given that it is heavily inspired by the franchise. I played a lot of Ultimate when it first came out, and while this game lacks the flair and presentation of Ultimate, I believe it is miles ahead in terms of gameplay.

Ultimate can feel sluggish at times, and several of the characters seem to have a very specific gameplan and combo setup, as opposed to the looser mechanics in All-Stars. I struggled to generate regular combos in Ultimate, but it feels very natural in this game. If you’re searching for a platform fighter that’s more focused on competitive play, I believe this game definitely outperforms Ultimate in terms of playability. Not to mention the rollback netcode, which is far years ahead of the netcode used by Nintendo for Smash.
